Churches

Afissos

The patron Saint of the village is Agia Marina. Right next to the village and under the belfry there is a small chapel dedicated to Agia Paraskevi.

The church initially operated as a chapel of the church of Agios Ioannis in Afete, since the residents were used to internal migration in the past, from Afissos to Afete and Neochori in the summer and followed the reverse course in the winter, in order for them and their livestock to survive the climate changes.

The date of construction of the temple is not known to us, but some of the icons point to the date of 1860 as the erection date of this church.
